Job Summary:

We are seeking an Industrial Design Engineer with a creative and analytical mindset to design a wide range of products within our power electronics portfolio, starting with an innovative new product soon coming to market. In this role, you will be entrusted with the important tasks of developing 3D mock-ups, creating detailed engineering drawings, communicating with stakeholders and the multi-disciplinary team, cost analysis, incorporate health and safety issues, use best practices in industrial design for products, and coordinating with third-party engineering partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Pioneer the industrial design of innovative commercial projects, translating user needs and technical requirements into designs that augment our legacy.

  • Drive the industrial design of commercial projects, using your creative vision to bring our products to life.

  • Utilize CAD software tools to create sophisticated 3D model drawings and optimized physical layout designs.

  • Design and develop advanced power electronic equipment through innovation and an understanding of practical applications.

  • Conduct comprehensive analytical tests on mechanical loads and designs, ensuring optimal functionality and safety.

  • Assess the feasibility and performance of electrical products and prototypes by conducting rigorous experimental studies.

  • Collaborate with various project stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication, effective documentation, and smooth workflow.

  • Uphold compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements by supervising and coordinating all operational activities, from installation and manufacturing to construction, maintenance, and testing.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree would be an added advantage.

  • Strong portfolio with examples of product design in a relevant field (electrical products/hardware).

  • Strong understanding of heating and cooling requirements for electronics.

  • Proficiency in software like Autodesk Electrical, EPlan, ETAP, Visio, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Understanding of power electronics, control strategies, system architecture, electric vehicles, EV chargers, and power conditioning systems.

  • Strong communication skills, especially in visualization and explaining designs simply.

  • A self-starter with strong time management skills and a natural ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
